Dozens of Israeli soldiers injured in largest ramming attack

In a significant ramming attack near a bus stop in Glilot, central Israel, 37 people were injured on Sunday. The incident occurred when a truck crashed into a crowded bus stop, leaving victims with various degrees of injury. Magen David Adom (MDA) confirmed that one individual is in critical condition, with six others seriously injured. Additionally, five people sustained moderate injuries, while around 20 were treated for minor wounds. Four others at the scene experienced anxiety and required immediate support.

Witness accounts indicate that civilians present at the scene acted swiftly, firing at the truck driver to prevent further violence. Early investigations revealed that a bus had stopped at the site moments before the truck collided with both the bus and pedestrians who were waiting at the stop.

Emergency response teams, including volunteers from United Hatzalah, arrived at the scene promptly to provide immediate medical assistance to more than 20 individuals. Firefighters worked alongside emergency medical teams to rescue several people who had been trapped beneath the truck. Additionally, the Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit was deployed to help those suffering from emotional trauma due to the incident.

The attacker has been apprehended, and emergency services are continuing to provide treatment to the injured. Local authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to better understand the circumstances surrounding the attack. This incident, being one of the largest of its kind in recent years, underscores the continued vigilance required in safeguarding public spaces.
