Air Fryer
After ordering an air fryer from Amazon, Colombian woman Sofia Serrano was shocked to find a lizard inside the box instead of the expected kitchen appliance.
The unexpected delivery mishap led Serrano to share a photo of the lizard on X (formerly Twitter), a post that has garnered over 4.1 million views.
In her post, translated from Spanish, Serrano remarked, “We ordered an air fryer through Amazon, and it arrived with a companion. I don’t know if it was Amazon’s fault or the carrier’s fault… good morning.”
The situation quickly caught the attention of social media users, many of whom were taken aback by what they described as a “scary” incident.
The post was widely shared and commented on, with some describing it as “one of the strongest horror stories” they had “heard in recent years.”
Many users expressed concern for the lizard, speculating that it might be scared, hungry, and thirsty. One commenter shared their own apprehension, saying, “I’ll die if this happens to me,” indicating how unsettling they found the mix-up.
Others took a more practical approach, advising Serrano to contact local environmental organizations to address the situation.
“You have to contact the environmental entity in your region, environmental police, or another organization that takes care of reptiles,” suggested one user.
In an interview with the Spanish newspaper Marca, Serrano described her reaction to finding a large lizard instead of the air fryer she had purchased.
She expressed her horror and confusion over the incident, highlighting the unusual and distressing nature of the delivery error.
The mix-up has not only sparked widespread discussion online but has also raised questions about the handling and inspection of packages by both Amazon and its carriers.
