Liu stressed the importance of internal stability for Pakistan’s development, noting that political and social stability are essential for sustainable growth.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the Chinese delegation and highlighted the indispensable nature of the Pakistan-China friendship for regional peace and development. He discussed his recent meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, underlining the need for the early completion and implementation of CPEC projects to spur Pakistan’s economic growth.

The prime minister also briefed the delegation on the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The meeting was attended by various high-ranking Pakistani officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir.

Liu Jianchao underscored the deep political consensus on CPEC in both countries and expressed China’s determination to upgrade the project. He announced plans to invite 300 representatives of Pakistani political parties to visit China over the next three years to foster cooperation across various sectors.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed the unshakeable strategic trust between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the cross-party consensus on CPEC’s significance for Pakistan’s economic development. Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq also expressed strong support for the initiative, highlighting its contributions to various sectors and the importance of parliamentary oversight.

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other political leaders called for the completion of delayed CPEC projects, with a focus on technical training and countering misinformation. General Syed Asim Munir pledged the army’s full support for CPEC’s successful implementation, emphasizing the strategic partnership between the two nations and the importance of regional stability.
