TEHRAN: Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has issued a resolute message, promising a robust retaliation against those responsible for the terrorist attacks that occurred in Kerman on Wednesday.
The statement follows two explosions during an event in Iran’s southern city of Kerman, held to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani. About 100 people died in the attacks.
Expressing deep concern, the Leader highlighted the tragic consequences of the blasts, which resulted in the martyrdom of numerous innocent individuals gathered to honor the late commander.
He emphasized the sorrow and mourning engulfing the Iranian people, condemning the heartless act that targeted those paying homage at the shrine of Qassem Soleimani.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the intolerance of Soleimani’s followers toward such vile and criminal actions, warning of severe consequences and an impending just punishment for those responsible.
He affirmed that this atrocious act would trigger a resolute response.
Describing the perpetrators of the Kerman bombings as ruthless adversaries of the Iranian people, the Leader vowed that those responsible, both the hands stained with innocent blood and the corrupt minds behind these crimes, would face swift and forceful retribution.
In addition to offering condolences to the grieving families, Ayatollah Khamenei prayed for divine mercy upon the martyrs and a speedy recovery for the injured.
