Gaza Genocide
On the first day of 2025, the Israeli military continued its deadly offensive on Gaza, killing two Palestinians, including an 8-year-old boy. The airstrike, which targeted the home of the Abu Dhaher family in Bureij refugee camp, marks the latest escalation in Israel’s ongoing genocide in the besieged enclave that has been intensifying since October 2023.
The victim, 8-year-old Adam Farhallah, became the first Palestinian civilian and child to be killed by Israeli forces in 2025. Local reports reveal that the Israeli bombardment destroyed the family home, instantly claiming the young boy’s life.
Heart-wrenching footage shared by local activists on social media platform X showed a Palestinian teenager standing near the lifeless body of Farhallah, holding the child’s severed leg.
The teenager’s grief-stricken voice could be heard in the background, saying, “The child was sleeping in hunger and cold… at the start of 2025 and this happens to him.” This tragic video paints a stark picture of the brutal impact of Israel’s airstrikes on Gaza’s civilian population.
In addition to Farhallah, Israeli bombardment also killed 27-year-old Khuloud Abu Daher. Both casualties underscore the ongoing tragedy in Gaza, where Israel’s military campaign has continued unabated, despite global condemnation.
Since the start of its invasion in October 2023, the Israeli military has claimed the lives of over 45,500 Palestinians, a majority of whom have been women and children. More than 110,000 others have been wounded.
The scale of destruction has been staggering, with 90 percent of Gaza’s infrastructure—including homes, schools, and hospitals—either damaged or destroyed. This devastation has left Gaza’s 2.4 million residents displaced, many of whom are now living in dire conditions without access to basic necessities.
Experts and human rights organizations argue that the reported death toll may be a conservative estimate, with the true figure potentially surpassing 200,000. The international community has continued to call for a ceasefire, but Israel’s actions show no sign of slowing.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has already issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its military actions in the region.
As the year 2025 begins, the ongoing conflict in Gaza shows no sign of abating, with Palestinian civilians paying the ultimate price for a war they have no part in starting. The world continues to watch as the human cost of the Israeli military’s actions in Gaza rises to unprecedented levels.
