RAWALPINDI – Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed on Thursday that India launched drone attacks on multiple cities across Pakistan.
Speaking at a press conference in Rawalpindi, the military spokesperson revealed that 12 Indian drones were intercepted and destroyed by Pakistan’s armed forces. He added that one civilian was martyred and another injured in Sindh as a result of the attacks.
Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif announced that Pakistani fighter jets shot down five Indian aircraft, including three Rafale jets, during a retaliatory strike in response to India’s recent aggression.
In an interview with CNN, Asif stated that even Indian media has acknowledged the crash of three aircraft in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
“India deliberately targeted civilian areas, including women and children — a clear violation of international law,” he said.
PM Shehbaz Sharif: India Made a Grave Miscalculation
In a televised address to the nation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned India’s actions, calling them a “grave mistake” that would have serious consequences.
“India made a strategic blunder last night, and they will pay dearly for underestimating Pakistan’s resolve,” he warned. “They assumed we would stay silent, but we are a resilient nation prepared to defend every inch of our soil.”
Referring to Pakistan’s swift military response, PM Sharif said, “Our retaliation was decisive and powerful — reminiscent of the legendary heroism of Squadron Leader M.M. Alam. The world witnessed that in mere hours, India was forced into retreat.”
