Pakistani security forces neutralized 71 terrorists in a series of targeted operations near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, significantly bolstering national security and foiling major threats, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Monday.
According to the military’s media wing, a deliberate sanitization operation was launched on the night of April 27–28 in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan District (NWD), following earlier engagements between April 25 and 27.
During the initial operations, security forces successfully eliminated 54 militants. On the following night, an additional 17 terrorists — described as operating under the influence of “Indian handlers” — were hunted down and neutralized, the ISPR said in a statement.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered during the raids. In total, 71 terrorists were eliminated over three days of intense counterterrorism efforts.
“The security forces remain resolute in securing the nation’s borders and are determined to foil any attempts to undermine Pakistan’s peace, stability, and progress,” the ISPR statement emphasized.
