PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah criticized the decision to approach international courts, suggesting it tarnishes Pakistan’s reputation as a convict on the global stage. He questioned why the judicial system’s “favourite child” needed to seek international assistance.
In one statement, Rana Sanaullah argued that involving international courts would portray Pakistan as a convict in the international community, a move typically associated with the country’s enemies.

He accused those advocating for the return, release, and resettlement of terrorists of promoting a dangerous path for such individuals.
Furthermore, he claimed that those responsible for Imran Khan’s rise to power were now attempting to shield him from accountability.
Sanaullah stated that Khan, initially hailed as a hero, received foreign funding, and rose to power, but subsequently led Pakistan into economic turmoil, resulting in inflation and civil unrest.

Rana Sanaullah, PML-N Punjab President and former federal interior minister, criticized Imran Khan, dubbing him the judicial system’s “favourite child (laadla)” and questioning the necessity of his international outreach.
He alleged that those who brought Khan to power were now attempting to shield him. Sanaullah accused Khan of corrupting the minds of the youth and labeled him a pawn used to globally defame Pakistan. Lastly, detractors welcomed Pakistan’s referral to international courts, he suggested.
He raised questions about who was financing Imran Khan’s activities.
