Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has confirmed that former prime minister Imran Khan will receive another eye injection on March 24. The procedure is part of his ongoing medical treatment plan.
The minister shared the update through his official X account on Tuesday. He stated that doctors have scheduled the second injection after reviewing the former premierโs medical condition. According to him, the treatment is progressing as planned.
Imran Khan, who is also the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail. Authorities shifted him to hospital under tight security arrangements for the recent medical procedure.
Shift to PIMS Under Strict Security Arrangements
On Tuesday, officials transported Imran Khan to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for treatment. Law enforcement agencies implemented strict security protocols during the transfer. Authorities ensured smooth movement from Adiala Jail to the hospital.
Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stated that officials fulfilled all legal and humanitarian requirements during the process. He emphasized that authorities followed proper procedures at every stage. Moreover, medical staff remained fully prepared before the former prime ministerโs arrival.
Doctors carried out the required medical assessment and administered the necessary injection as part of the treatment plan. After completing the procedure, the medical team monitored his condition closely. Once doctors cleared him, authorities transferred him back to Adiala Jail.
The minister said the entire process remained transparent. He added that officials strictly followed the law while arranging the hospital visit. According to him, authorities coordinated with medical professionals to ensure uninterrupted care.
Doctors Report Improvement in Vision After First Procedure
Doctors have reported improvement in Imran Khanโs eyesight following the first injection. The medical team observed positive progress in his vision. Therefore, specialists scheduled the second injection for March 24 to continue treatment.
The minister noted that providing medical care to prisoners is a constitutional obligation. He stressed that every inmate has the right to healthcare under Pakistani law. In this case, he said, authorities ensured that all facilities were provided without discrimination.
Furthermore, the minister clarified that prison officials acted in line with established legal guidelines. He reiterated that the government remains committed to ensuring medical access for all detainees. He also underlined that humanitarian considerations were fully respected.
Imran Khanโs health has remained a subject of public interest in recent months. Supporters have repeatedly demanded proper medical facilities for the former prime minister. Meanwhile, government officials maintain that they are complying with court directives and prison regulations.
As the March 24 date approaches, medical experts will continue monitoring his recovery. The second injection aims to stabilize and further improve his eye condition. Officials have assured that any additional medical requirements will also be addressed promptly.
