ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) today announced an important verdict about the auction of PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari’s property. The court suspended auction and directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to present the complete record of the case.
A division bench comprising Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Inam Amin Minhas heard the petition filed by Sakina Bukhari, Zulfi Bukhari’s sister, who challenged NAB’s decision to auction the property.
Petitioner’s Argument
During the hearing, Babar Awan, counsel for the petitioner, argued that the auction was initiated without proper notice to his client.
“We were not informed about the auction proceedings and only found out after the advertisement was published,” Awan told the court.
He said no official documents had been disclosed about the potential buyers, and the land — approximately 2,100 kanals of common property — had not yet been divided among co-owners.
Awan clarified that while other stakeholders are also involved, he is representing only Sakina Bukhari in the case.
Court’s Direction
After reviewing the arguments, the bench suspended the auction process and ordered NAB to submit all property-related records.
The court also adjourned the hearing until the third week of November, instructing NAB to ensure transparency in all further proceedings.
