The Punjab government has officially appointed acclaimed actress and television host Iffat Omar as the cultural adviser to Azma Bukhari, the Provincial Minister for Information and Culture.
In her new role, Iffat Omar will be responsible for spearheading efforts to revive and promote Punjab’s rich cultural heritage. She will work closely with cultural institutions and stakeholders to enhance artistic expression and preserve traditional arts across the province.
To support her responsibilities, Omar has been allocated an office at the Alhamra Cultural Complex in Lahore—one of the city’s leading cultural hubs.
With decades of experience in the entertainment industry, Iffat Omar is widely respected for her contributions to Pakistani television and her advocacy on social and cultural issues. Her appointment is seen as a step toward infusing the cultural landscape with fresh energy and creativity.
