Hezbollah Rocket Damages Israeli Town Overnight
JERUSALEM โ The Israeli military ordered residents of 13 additional villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately, instructing them to move at least 1,000 meters away to open areas. Earlier overnight, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued similar evacuation orders for 16 other villages, warning residents not to return โat this stage.โ
The IDF said Hezbollah activity in the area forced it to act with force, signaling a widening military campaign along the border. Consequently, thousands of Lebanese civilians now face displacement as cross-border hostilities intensify.
Meanwhile, a Hezbollah rocket struck the northern Israeli town of Hatzor Haglilit overnight, according to Israelโs Fire and Rescue Service. The projectile damaged several buildings but caused no casualties. Sirens also sounded across northern Israel, including near Safed and the Galilee panhandle, as the military intercepted several incoming rockets. However, one rocket impacted an area near the border.
Missile Fire, Airstrikes and Regional Fallout
At the same time, sirens rang out in Jerusalem, central Israel, and southern communities near Gaza after Iran launched ballistic missiles toward Israeli territory.
In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes killed several people in the eastern city of Baalbek when a four-storey residential building collapsed, state media reported. Rescue teams continued searching for survivors beneath the rubble.
Beyond the immediate conflict zone, regional tensions mounted further. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported two separate maritime security incidents near Iran and Oman, including one vessel struck by a projectile. All crew members remained safe.
Additionally, reports indicated that approximately 50,000 U.S. troops have been assigned to the Iran conflict, with additional forces deploying to the Middle East.
