The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has expanded working hours at 14 M-Tag installation centers across the federal capital to facilitate citizens during Ramazan. Officials announced the revised schedule on Wednesday, aiming to reduce long queues and provide motorists with greater flexibility.
Director General Excise approves extended timings
The Director General Excise approved the new plan to ensure smoother access for car and motorcycle owners who require M-Tags for travel on major highways. Under the revised schedule, authorities will operate two toll plazas ะบััะณะป the clock. Motorists can now install M-Tags 24 hours a day at 26 Number Toll Plaza and Phulgran Toll Plaza.
In addition, several high-traffic locations will offer extended 12-hour service from 9am to 9pm. These include F-9 Park, Police Check Post G-14, and Rawat T-Chowk. Officials selected these centers due to heavy traffic flow and increased public demand, especially during morning and evening hours. As a result, commuters can complete registration after work or during late hours without stress.
Standard hours maintained at other centers
Meanwhile, other installation points will continue operating from 9am to 5pm. These locations include Gulberg Greens, Faizabad, Malpur, Wheat Godown near Sabzi Mandi Police Station, Daman-e-Koh, Murree Road near Tulip Hotel, Ninth Avenue Margalla Avenue, and the Excise Office.
Authorities stated that the revised hours will remain in effect throughout Ramazan unless further instructions are issued. Moreover, officials believe the staggered timings will distribute visitors more evenly and prevent overcrowding at busy points.
The Excise Department has advised motorists to carry vehicle registration documents and identification cards to avoid delays. Staff members have received instructions to ensure smooth processing and guide visitors clearly. Officials have also urged residents to visit the nearest center according to the updated schedule and avoid last-minute rush.
