The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the introduction of a revised syllabus for three important degree programs: Pharm D, Food Science and Technology, and Human Nutrition.
This move, reported by 24NewsHD TV, reflects HECโs ongoing efforts to modernize higher education in Pakistan and better align academic programs with both global standards and local market requirements.
According to HEC, the new curriculum has been prepared in line with the Undergraduate Education Policy 2023, which emphasizes quality, innovation, and practical relevance in academic programs.
The revision process involved extensive collaboration with academic experts, industry professionals, and accreditation councils to ensure that the updated content meets international benchmarks while addressing the evolving needs of the job market.
Officials noted that the revised syllabus aims to strengthen both academic learning and professional readiness of graduates. For students of Pharm D, the updates are expected to enhance their understanding of modern pharmaceutical practices and improve their ability to contribute effectively in clinical and research settings.
Similarly, the curriculum for Food Science and Technology has been refined to address the latest trends in food safety, processing, and innovation, equipping students to play a critical role in Pakistanโs growing food industry.
For Human Nutrition, the changes are designed to build a stronger foundation in dietetics and nutrition science, enabling graduates to respond to rising health and dietary challenges in society.
HEC has already dispatched the revised curriculum to universities nationwide, ensuring that the new courses are implemented promptly. The syllabi have also been uploaded on the official HEC website to provide easy access for institutions, faculty, and students.
By introducing these reforms, HEC aims to improve the overall quality of education, enhance employability of graduates, and strengthen the role of higher education in national development.
