Scholarships Open for Master’s and PhD Studies
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has announced the Chinese Government Scholarship – High-Level Postgraduate Program 2026 (Type B). The fully-funded program offers opportunities for outstanding Pakistani students to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees at Tianjin University, China.
The scholarships are available for students in engineering, sciences, management, humanities, and social sciences. HEC described the program as highly competitive, aiming to attract the brightest international talent for advanced postgraduate studies.
Students interested in applying must submit their applications by January 18, 2026. HEC shared details of the scholarship on its official social media channels and emphasized that the program is fully funded.
Scholarship Benefits and Duration
Tianjin University offers 104 Master’s programs and 125 PhD programs. Among these, 29 Master’s and 55 PhD programs are taught in English, allowing international students to pursue studies without learning Chinese initially.
The scholarship provides full tuition coverage, accommodation or a housing subsidy, medical insurance, and a monthly stipend of CNY 3,500 for both Master’s and PhD students. However, international airfare is not included.
The scholarship is awarded for the entire duration of the degree. Continuation of funding depends on satisfactory academic performance, ensuring students maintain high standards throughout their studies.
Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0 or its equivalent. PhD candidates are also required to have at least one published research paper.
Language proficiency is mandatory for admission. For programs taught in English, applicants must submit IELTS scores of 6.0 or higher, or TOEFL scores of 80 or above. For Chinese-taught programs, HSK Level 5 is required.
Applicants must also meet all academic and language requirements of their chosen program. HEC clarified that it will not bear any financial responsibility for the scholarship, which is fully funded by the Chinese government.
