The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially announced its Summer Internship Program (SIP) 2025, a six-week opportunity designed for students to gain practical exposure and experience in the banking and financial sector. The internship will take place from June 23, 2025, to August 1, 2025, at SBP Headquarters in Karachi.

This internship is an excellent opportunity for students who are pursuing higher education and wish to gain valuable insights into the workings of Pakistan’s central bank. The deadline to submit an online application is February 14, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the SBP Summer Internship Program 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have completed at least two years of a four-year bachelor’s degree program or be enrolled in a master’s degree program.
  • The program is open to students studying in various disciplines, including:
    • Economics
    • Business Administration
    • Public Administration
    • Accounting & Finance
    • Commerce
    • Mathematics & Statistics
    • Human Resources
    • Agriculture
    • Media Sciences/Mass Communication
    • Information Systems & Technology
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 70% marks (if following a percentage grading system) or a minimum CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 (or 4.00 out of 5.00 if using a GPA-based grading system).
  • Graduates and students awaiting results that would make them eligible are not allowed to apply.

Application Procedure

Students who meet the eligibility criteria can apply by following these steps:

  1. Open the official internship application link using a supported web browser (avoid using Internet Explorer).
  2. Click on the “Apply Here” button.
  3. Enter a valid email address and confirm it.
  4. Provide a CNIC or NICOP number (13 digits, without dashes).
  5. Fill in the CAPTCHA and click “Submit”.
  6. Check your email inbox for a confirmation message and follow the instructions to complete the registration process.
  7. Choose one of the following options, based on your current university location:
    • Pakistani national studying at a domestic university
    • Pakistani national studying at an international university
  8. Complete all required sections of the application form and click the “Submit” button.
  9. Upon successful submission, a confirmation message will appear.

Selection and Required Documents

Shortlisted candidates will be notified by March 14, 2025. Selected students will be required to submit scanned attested copies of the following documents:

  • Official transcript of the last completed semester
  • CNIC, NICOP, or a valid Pakistani passport
  • Domicile certificate
  • A recent passport-sized photograph
