ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has asked people waiting for SMS to get second dose of Covid vaccination to receive second jab from the nearest vaccination center. The NCOC observed that people whose second dose is due are being sent back without vaccination as they did not receive SMS.
In a statement, NCOC said there is no need to wait for the SMS and people can get second jab as early as possible. NCOC also reported that Pakistan has received 1.23 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, fourth consignment delivered by the international alliance, Covax.
The NCOC further stated that more than 500,000 people are being vaccinated daily. The Centre further said that vaccination centres would remain closed on only first day of Eidul Azha.
So far, 22,781 people have died in Pakistan because of the coronavirus pandemic. More than 989,000 people have contracted the virus out of which 919,000 have recovered.
