ISLAMABAD: The German embassy in Pakistan has announced that it will open the student visa registration list on May 21 (Tuesday) for students holding admission letters from universities for the winter semester of 2024-2025.
In a recent update on its website, the embassy stated that it will stop providing appointments to students with admission letters for the summer semester of 2024 by the end of May.
Admission letters from German universities for bachelor’s or master’s studies for the summer semester of 2024 dated after May 15 will be automatically cancelled. Affected students will receive an email notification regarding the cancellation.
Due to the high volume of student applications, the embassy could not fulfill all appointments for the summer semester of 2024, leading to increased demand.
Students with visas in the bachelor’s and master’s sub-categories who have received an unconditional direct admission letter from a German university will face longer waiting times for appointments at the embassy.
Currently, the waiting period for applicants in the study preparation sub-category is approximately 12 months.
“The Embassy will prioritize applicants with scholarships from German institutions and PhD students,” it added.
An exclusive online registration category called “Registration to Apply for a Master’s Program” is available specifically for students with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.7 or above, who will also receive prioritized consideration.
Required documents for the application include an application form, biometric picture, passport copies, ID copies, applicant declaration, appointment confirmation email, information on any previous visa refusals, curriculum vitae, admission letter, enrollment certificate, confirmation of sufficient language skills in the language of instruction, proof of sufficient financial means, and health insurance.
Applicants must provide evidence of a blocked account, scholarship grant, or official commitment issued by the immigration office in Germany.
