LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Students from Multan, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad have made their families proud by achieving remarkable success in the 2024 annual Intermediate examinations, with girls securing the top positions in all three cities.
In Multan, history was made as Zarlish Fatima, Wajiha Afzal, and Arfa Batool shared the first position with 1158 marks each. Wajiha, whose father is a teacher, expressed her gratitude for his unwavering support.
Zarlish shared her joy at achieving a top rank, while parents throughout the region celebrated their children’s accomplishments.
The third position in Multan was earned by Sajal Sohail, the daughter of a driver, with 1127 marks. Her father, Muhammad Sohail, expressed deep gratitude, thanking God for his daughter’s outstanding achievement. “She has worked really hard for it, and there was some effort from our side as well,” he said.
The overall success rate in Multan’s Intermediate exams was recorded at 63.52%.
In Rawalpindi, girls dominated the results, sweeping the top three positions. Natasha Rizwan secured the overall first position in the Rawalpindi board with 1142 marks. Natasha attributed her success to consistent hard work, the dedication of her teachers, and her parents’ prayers. She emphasized the importance of faith, self-confidence, and perseverance in achieving one’s goals.
“When your goals are clear and you work hard, God rewards you,” she remarked.
Girls in Rawalpindi also excelled in specific groups, taking the top positions in FSc, ICS, and ICom. The overall success rate in Rawalpindi’s Intermediate exams was 56.75%.
In Faisalabad, girls also shone brightly in the Intermediate examinations. Sadia, the daughter of a roadside stall holder, topped the pre-engineering group, outshining all her peers. She dedicated her success to her father’s hard work and support.
In a particularly inspiring story from Faisalabad, Haseeb, a visually impaired student, secured the third position in the arts group. Refusing to let his disability hold him back, Haseeb shared his ambition to pursue CSS and become a foreign secretary. His achievement underscores the determination and resilience of students who face significant challenges.
The Faisalabad Education Board reported a success rate of over 71% in the Intermediate examinations.
