LAHORE: Female students have dominated most of the top positions on the merit list of the admission test for the MBBS.
Eight out of 12 top qualifiers for the MBBS admission are female students belonging to Punjab.
Mohammad Hassan Raza, Eashal Fatima, Arham Hussain, Nawal Umar, Anfal Fatima, Zainab Awais, Manal Iqbal Chaudhry, Dilawar Ali Khan, Muhammad Talha, Rania Usman Latif, Asmaa Khalid and Mahnoor Shujaat are the top-12 candidates who have passed the MBBS test.
The University of Health Sciences (UHS) in Lahore has unveiled the preliminary merit roster for admissions into private medical and dental colleges across Punjab. This list stands on the merit-based ranking of all applicants.
About 10,397 candidates sought admission into 49 private medical and dental colleges within the province, with 6,685 females and 3,712 males among them. The UHS has made the provisional list accessible for all applicants on its official website (uhs.edu.pk).
As per the roster, the anticipated minimum merit for MBBS admissions stands at 80.4%, while for BDS, it’s at 78.2%.
Candidates have the opportunity to raise objections regarding the merit list through the submission portal.
The spokesperson from UHS highlighted that objections were accepted until 12:00 AM on December 19. Punjab hosts 4,000 MBBS seats across 32 private medical colleges and 1,025 BDS seats spread across 17 private dental colleges.
This year, in line with the Punjab government’s directive, centralized admissions are being administered for private medical and dental colleges.
