The dengue threat remains a significant concern in Punjab, with 172 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Recent data revealed that Rawalpindi accounted for 157 of these cases, while Lahore reported eight and Jehlum recorded two. Additionally, Gujranwala, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, and Okara each had one case.
In total, Punjab has seen 3,771 dengue cases this year, including 904 cases in the past week. Fortunately, public hospitals are stocked with dengue and other essential medicines.
Punjab Government’s Efforts to Control Dengue
Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir is actively seeking to manage the dengue outbreak. On Wednesday, he emphasized the need for cooperation among all relevant departments to assist district administrations in combating the disease.
Nazir noted that while dengue is not considered lethal, precautions are essential. He assured that all activities are being closely monitored to effectively control the spread of the virus.
