The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has introduced a strict ban on the sharing of past Matric and Intermediate exam papers on social media platforms.
In a recent announcement, the board warned that individuals found posting old or guess papers online will face legal consequences under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), which may include both fines and imprisonment.
A notification issued by the Controller of Examinations has been sent to all heads of educational institutions, informing them of the new restrictions. The notice expressed concern over the widespread circulation of past exam papers, particularly through WhatsApp groups and other online forums, by both public and private school teachers.
The new policy stipulates that anyone found guilty of posting old exam papers or guess papers could face up to three years in prison and a fine of Rs 50,000.
The Lahore Board has made it clear that it will take stringent measures to prevent the unauthorized distribution of exam materials, underscoring the importance of maintaining the integrity of the examination process.
