Additional Marks
Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, Justice Maqbool Baqar (Retd), has taken a significant step to address the concerns raised by a fact-finding committee regarding low marks awarded to intermediate students. The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has been directed by the CM to provide additional marks to the affected students based on the committee’s recommendations.
The fact-finding committee, appointed to investigate the reasons behind the lower-than-expected marks, has submitted its report, prompting the caretaker CM to intervene. In response to the committee’s findings, Justice Maqbool Baqar (Retd) has directed the BIEK to implement changes to the students’ scores.
According to the directives, students will receive 15 additional marks in Mathematics, and 12 marks each in Economics, Physics, and Chemistry. Furthermore, six additional marks will be awarded in both Botany and Zoology. This move aims to rectify the discrepancies identified in the initial evaluation process and ensure a fair representation of the students’ capabilities.
In another noteworthy development, the caretaker CM has approved the committee’s recommendation to remove Muhammad Saheer from his position in the IT sector. This decision underscores the commitment to accountability and transparency in the education system, signaling a proactive approach to address issues and maintain the integrity of the examination and evaluation processes.
The actions taken by Justice Maqbool Baqar (Retd) reflect a commitment to upholding educational standards and fairness, ensuring that students receive due recognition for their efforts.
The additional marks granted in key subjects demonstrate a thoughtful response to concerns raised, fostering confidence in the education system’s ability to address challenges and prioritize the well-being of students in Sindh.
