Renowned actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has finally addressed ongoing speculation about his departure from the entertainment industry, making it clear that he never actually quit showbiz — he simply stepped away to focus on his spiritual journey.
“I never said I was leaving showbiz for good. I only announced a break,” Hamza clarified during a recent podcast appearance. “But people took selective clips from my video and ran with the story that I had quit acting permanently — which was never the case.”
Best known for his commanding screen presence and candid views, Abbasi explained that his time away was meant for personal growth and religious understanding.
“I went to Dallas to study under Javed Ahmad Ghamidi sahib. His teachings focus on balancing faith (deen) and worldly life (dunya),” he shared. “My intention was always to return — just with greater clarity and purpose.”
Addressing the misreporting surrounding his hiatus, Hamza criticized the sensationalism of local media. “Many headlines are based on half-truths. There’s this widespread idea that Islam and entertainment can’t coexist, so the narrative quickly turned into: ‘Hamza leaves media for Islam.’ That’s not what I said at all.”
His clarification has come as a welcome relief for fans who’ve long anticipated his return to acting. Now, with a renewed sense of direction and spiritual depth, Hamza’s comeback promises to be even more compelling than before.
