Gaza: Hamas has encouraged Iran to โactivate all frontsโ in its confrontation with Israel and the United States, according to a report by KAN News citing a secret letter sent to Iranโs new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
The reported message surfaced shortly after Hamas issued a more restrained public statement addressing the escalating conflict. In that statement, the Palestinian group affirmed Iranโs right to respond to attacks but urged Tehran not to target neighboring Gulf countries.
Nevertheless, the private letter reportedly conveyed a much stronger message of support for Iran and called for broader regional mobilization. According to the report, Hamas declared that it stood firmly behind Iranโs leadership during what it described as โZionist-Americanโ aggression.
Furthermore, the group emphasized that it would not accept any attempts to disarm its forces and vowed to continue its role within the wider network of regional resistance groups.
Public statement contrasts with private message
Meanwhile, Hamas publicly adopted a more measured tone when addressing the situation on Saturday. The group acknowledged Iranโs right to respond to attacks using available means while simultaneously urging restraint toward Gulf states.
However, the secret message reportedly criticized countries that normalized relations with Israel, describing them as part of a โlosing camp.โ The letter also mocked those governments for failing to defend military bases that came under attack during recent regional escalations.
In addition, Hamas pledged continued cooperation with allied groups across the Middle East, including factions in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq.
The Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry reacted quickly to the reported letter and described it on social media as a โsmoking gun.โ Israeli officials argued that the message demonstrated Hamasโs alignment with Iran and criticized the group for allegedly undermining Arab partners.
