ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has completed its pre-Hajj operation for 2025, which ran from April 29 to the night of May 31.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the national carrier operated 147 dedicated Hajj flights over the two-month period, facilitating the travel of 42,400 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia’s holy cities.
Of these, approximately 35,000 were government-sponsored pilgrims, while 4,000 traveled through private arrangements.
PIA also stepped in to support over 3,000 additional pilgrims who had been stranded due to disruptions caused by other airlines operating within Pakistani airspace.
A standout feature of this year’s operation was PIA’s punctuality, with a flight schedule regularity rate exceeding 90%. The airline credited this achievement to its improved operational coordination and commitment to ensuring timely service during the high-demand pilgrimage season.
The spokesperson further confirmed that the airline’s post-Hajj return operation is scheduled to begin on June 10, 2025.
