Renowned singer and humanitarian Hadiqa Kiani, in collaboration with the Alkhidmat Foundation, provided relief packages to 1,000 flood-affected families in Jalalpur Pirwala and Shujabad. The initiative aimed to support families still recovering from the devastating floods in South Punjab.
Essential Supplies for Families and Children
The relief packages included dry rations, bedding, quilts, water coolers, mosquito nets, floor mats, utensils, and household essentials. Additionally, 500 children received stationery, toys, and gift packs, spreading hope and joy among young survivors. In total, 600 families in Jalalpur Pirwala and 400 families in Shujabad benefited from this effort.
Hadiqa Kiani Engages with Flood Victims
During the distribution, Hadiqa Kiani interacted with women and children to understand their post-flood challenges. The event was attended by Syed Abdul Qadir, President Alkhidmat Multan; Shoaib Hashmi, Senior Manager Media Relations; Adeel Kareem Bhatti, President Alkhidmat Jalalpur Pirwala; and Dr. Zeeshan Hassan Wains, President Alkhidmat Shujabad. Volunteers, local notables, and affected families also joined the ceremony.
Plans for Disaster Management Centres
Speaking at the event, Kiani praised Alkhidmat’s efficient disaster response and announced plans to collaborate on establishing Disaster Management Centres in both regions. She stressed the importance of community preparedness and resilience for future calamities.
Alkhidmat Expands Relief and Rehabilitation Work
Syed Abdul Qadir thanked Hadiqa Kiani for her support and noted that Alkhidmat had been actively engaged in rescue, relief, and now rehabilitation efforts since the floods began. Shoaib Hashmi shared that their mission extended to long-term recovery, announcing a farmer rehabilitation programme. Meanwhile, Dr. Wains appreciated artists’ growing role in social service and humanitarian engagement.
