KARACHI: A miracle surfaced in the Gul Plaza fire tragedy today as the rescue team discovered copies of the Holy Quran and mosque totally safe from the inferno. More than two dozen people died in the inferno, while dozens of others are still missing.
Rescue officials, nonetheless, reported that copies of the Holy Quran placed on shelves inside the prayer hall in the Gul Plaza remained completely unharmed. The holy books showed no visible signs of burning, scorching, or smoke damage.
Rescuers carefully collected the copies and moved them to a secure area to protect them during ongoing operations. A rescue official recorded a video of the moment during the late-night search, documenting the condition of the mosque and its contents.

Authorities repeatedly clarified that rescue teams had thoroughly searched the area and found no casualties there. Meanwhile, rescue leaders warned that the building remains extremely dangerous. The intense heat from the fire has weakened the structure, and teams face a constant risk of floor collapse.
