ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced on Thursday that applications under the remaining quota of the government Hajj scheme will resume next week.
This step is aimed at ensuring full utilization of the allotted quota and avoiding the return of unused seats to Saudi Arabia.
Key Details of the Reopened Applications:
- An additional 5,000 pilgrims will be able to apply on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The ministry is considering a five-day window for submission, with final approval of the timeline expected soon.
Earlier, the government had received 81,500 applications under the Hajj scheme. The reopening of applications is designed to provide a chance for those who missed out during the initial application phase.
Unlike the initial round, no lottery system will be used for these new applications, streamlining the process to ensure transparency and efficiency.
Officials emphasized the importance of utilizing the full quota, not only to avoid returning seats but also to ensure that all opportunities to send pilgrims to the Holy Land are fully realized.
The application process will begin promptly, with further details to be announced by the ministry.
