Google Labs, in collaboration with DeepMind, has unveiled Pomelli, a new AI-powered experiment designed to assist small and medium-sized businesses in creating brand-consistent marketing campaigns.
Currently available in public beta in English across the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, Pomelli aims to simplify the marketing process for businesses lacking in-house creative teams or agency support.
At its core, Pomelli operates by scanning a company’s website to construct what Google calls a “Business DNA” — a digital profile that captures the brand’s tone of voice, visual identity, color palette, fonts, and imagery style. This profile ensures that all generated content remains consistent across various marketing channels, maintaining a unified brand presence.
Once the Business DNA profile is established, Pomelli leverages AI to suggest campaign ideas tailored to the business’s goals. Users can either select from the AI’s proposed concepts or input their own prompts to generate more specific creative directions.
The system then produces editable, on-brand marketing materials, including social media posts, web graphics, and digital ads. These assets can be fine-tuned directly within the tool and downloaded for use across multiple platforms.
The significance of Pomelli lies in its potential to streamline creative workflows for smaller businesses that lack the time or resources to develop professional-grade campaigns. By automating the process of ideation and asset creation, Pomelli promises to reduce dependence on external agencies and shorten turnaround times for marketing content.
As part of its early Google Labs release, the company emphasizes that Pomelli is still experimental. Google and DeepMind are actively seeking user feedback to refine the experience and expand the tool’s functionality, hinting at future updates that could further integrate AI-driven brand management into everyday business marketing operations.
