Securiti AI, a company founded by Pakistani entrepreneur Rehan Jalil, has been acquired by data resilience giant Veeam in a landmark deal worth approximately $1.7 billion. The acquisition marks one of the largest exits ever achieved by a Pakistani founder in the global tech industry.
Securiti AI specializes in developing tools that help enterprises locate, protect, and manage data across cloud platforms and SaaS applications. Its flagship product, the Data Command Center, enables organizations to handle data privacy, governance, and security—particularly for information used in artificial intelligence systems.
According to Veeam, integrating Securiti’s technology will enhance its ability to safeguard business data as companies increasingly adopt AI.
Under the terms of the agreement, Jalil will join Veeam as President of Security and AI once the deal is finalized later this year. The transaction, a mix of cash and stock, is pending regulatory approvals.
The acquisition highlights the growing demand for tools that ensure AI systems manage data responsibly, comply with global privacy laws, and maintain security standards. As data-driven operations expand, companies like Securiti are becoming vital for enabling safe and trustworthy AI adoption.
For Pakistan’s tech ecosystem, the sale represents a major milestone, underscoring the country’s expanding influence in the global technology landscape. Rehan Jalil, who has a strong background in cloud security, founded Securiti with the vision of promoting responsible data usage in the era of AI.
Veeam announced it plans to retain Securiti’s products and integrate its AI governance, privacy, and trust capabilities into Veeam’s backup and recovery services.
The combined portfolio will allow businesses to accelerate AI-driven innovation while keeping data protected, compliant, and recoverable—further positioning Veeam as a leader in secure digital transformation.
