ISLAMABAD: Several countries have strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, voicing concern over civilian casualties and reaffirming support for Pakistanโs counterterrorism efforts. The attacks prompted swift international reactions as details of the violence emerged.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), militants linked to Fitna Al Hindustan carried out coordinated assaults across multiple cities in Balochistan on January 31. The military said the attackers deliberately targeted civilians in an attempt to destabilise the province and spread fear.
The assaults resulted in the deaths of 18 civilians, including women and children, while 15 security personnel were martyred during operations against the militants. Subsequently, security forces launched retaliatory actions and killed 92 militants, including three suicide bombers, the ISPR said.
Regional partners express solidarity
Saudi Arabia was among the first countries to condemn the violence. In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it was deeply concerned over the attacks and acknowledged Pakistanโs effective strategy in confronting terrorism. It added that the Kingdom stands firmly with the government and people of Pakistan.
Similarly, Qatar denounced the attacks, with its foreign ministry reiterating Dohaโs rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, regardless of motive. The statement conveyed condolences to the victimsโ families and wished a swift recovery to those injured.
Western allies echo support
The British High Commission in Pakistan also condemned the attacks, expressing sorrow for the loss of life. In a message posted on X, it said the United Kingdom stands with Pakistan in rejecting terrorism and promoting peace and security.
Tรผrkiye joined the international chorus as well. Its Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attacks, offered prayers for the fallen security personnel, and extended condolences to the Pakistani people, reaffirming Ankaraโs solidarity with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
