Geo TV to Premiere “Case No. 9”
Geo TV, in collaboration with 7th Sky Entertainment, is set to premiere its highly anticipated drama “Case No. 9” today. The gripping series tells the story of a fearless woman who challenges power, influence, and societal pressure in her pursuit of justice.
Script by Shahzeb Khanzada
Penned by prominent Geo News anchor Shahzeb Khanzada, the drama explores a crime inspired by everyday reality but framed in an unprecedented way. Themes of rape, courtroom hearings, lawyers’ arguments, social media battles, and the suffocating phrase “Log kya kahenge?” (What will people say?) highlight the obstacles women face when seeking justice.
Saba Qamar leads as Sehar
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Syed Wajahat Hussain, “Case No. 9” introduces audiences to Sehar, a resilient and courageous young woman portrayed by Saba Qamar. Sehar refuses to bow to social restraints, emerging as a symbol of strength and defiance.
Faisal Qureshi plays the antagonist
Opposite her, Faisal Qureshi plays Kamran, a powerful businessman whose ego and influence attempt to subdue Sehar. The drama centers on Sehar’s struggle against Kamran’s schemes, posing a central question: Will Sehar fall victim to power, or will her courage lead her to triumph?
Mega cast and production
Produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, the project features a stellar ensemble cast including Junaid Khan, Rushna Khan, Aamina Sheikh, Shah Nawaz Zaidi, Hina Bayat, Gohar Rasheed, Ali Rehman Khan, Naveen Waqar, Noorul Hassan, Faiza Gillani, Kamran Jilani, Mizna Waqas, Azra Mohyeddin, Zohra Aamir, and others.
Stars share their thoughts
Faisal Qureshi called the project the “need of the hour,” saying it will “create history” and be remembered for years. He even rescheduled his commitments to ensure his participation. Saba Qamar revealed she was deeply impressed by the script and only later discovered it was Shahzeb Khanzada’s debut as a writer.
Broadcast details
“Case No. 9” will air every Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm on Geo TV, offering audiences a powerful story of resilience, justice, and hope.
