Fresh Alert for Punjab
Monsoon rains are expected to hit most districts of Punjab from September 6 to 9. Meteorologists predict significant downpours in the upper regions, raising the risk of flooding in major rivers.
PDMA Issues Warning
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab confirmed an increase in river water flow due to incoming rains and inflow from India. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have advised citizens to stay alert.
Chenab River Water Levels
At the Marala point of the Chenab River, water flow has reached 115,000 cusecs. The volume rises to 205,000 cusecs at Khanqah and 266,000 cusecs at Qadirabad. At Head Trimmu, the flow increases further, hitting 331,000 cusecs.

Public Safety Advisory
The PDMA has urged citizens to remain vigilant. Authorities warn against fishing, swimming, or engaging in recreational activities near rivers. Rising water levels pose serious risks, and residents should follow safety guidelines. Emergency response teams remain on standby to handle potential flooding.
Punjab authorities continue to monitor rainfall patterns closely. With rivers already swelling, communities living near embankments face the highest risk. Preventive measures and timely precautions will be vital in minimizing damage during the upcoming rain spell.
