KARACHI: In a major security operation, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and other law enforcement agencies have arrested four suspected operatives of Indiaโs intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), in Karachi, SSP Shoaib Memon confirmed during a press briefing on Wednesday.
The suspects were reportedly in direct contact with Indian Army Colonel Ranjit, and are accused of operating an espionage network on Pakistani soil. According to SSP Memon, the individuals were actively involved in spying activities, including sharing sensitive photographs and geotagged locations of military installations with handlers across the border.
Authorities also seized explosives, a vehicle, and illegal weapons from the possession of the accused. SSP Memon stated that all four men are residents of Sujawal district in Sindh and had crossed into India over 20 times, allegedly to receive training and instructions from Indian intelligence.
Cases have been registered against the suspects under anti-state and espionage laws, and a comprehensive investigation is currently underway to identify the full extent of their network and any local collaborators involved in the plot.
The arrests come amid heightened security concerns and reflect growing efforts by Pakistani law enforcement to crack down on foreign intelligence operations within its borders.
