On Saturday, Pakistan condemned the inflammatory statements made by India’s Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh. They emphasized that their pursuit of peace should not be misinterpreted.
According to a news article in The Guardian, a British daily newspaper, it is stated that the Indian government allegedly planned the assassination of 20 people in Pakistan as a broader approach to eradicate terrorists residing in other countries.
During an interview with the Indian TV news channel on Friday, the Indian minister declared, “Should a terrorist from a neighboring nation attempt to disrupt India or conduct terrorist acts within our borders, they will face retaliation. If they manage to flee to Pakistan, we will pursue them and eliminate them there.”
In response, the Foreign Office stated that India’s current government frequently uses inflammatory language to encourage intense nationalism, without hesitation exploiting this discourse for political benefits in elections.
The press release added that this narrow-minded and careless conduct not only jeopardizes regional stability but also hinders the potential for productive, long-term collaboration.
In January, Pakistan presented undeniable proof that showcased India’s involvement in unlawful and cross-border assassinations on Pakistani territory. The Indian claim of readiness to carry out extrajudicial killings against individuals labeled as terrorists within Pakistan serves as a clear confession of their guilt.
The statement emphasizes the importance of the global community holding India responsible for their deplorable and unlawful activities.
In response, the press release highlights Pakistan’s unwavering dedication to regional peace, as expressed by the Foreign Office. It also clarifies that Pakistan’s pursuit of peace should not be misinterpreted, and underlines the nation’s strong history of self-defense and protection.
Subsequently, Rajnath’s remarks followed The Guardian’s publication of their report on Thursday, which referenced intelligence sources from both Pakistan and India, as well as pertinent documents allegedly provided by Pakistani authorities.
This report reportedly provides insight into the alleged shift in India’s foreign intelligence operations, adopting assassinations overseas as part of their national security strategy since 2019.
New allegations involve approximately 20 killings occurring since 2020 in Pakistan, allegedly committed by unidentified assailants.
Although India has unofficially been associated with these deaths before, this is the first instance where Indian intelligence officers have discussed the purported activities in Pakistan, and evidence has emerged suggesting that RAW played a direct role in these assassinations.
