The first made-in-Iran passengers plane will soon be flying in the skies, the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran reported today.
The CEO of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization said that Iran is close to test the first flight of locally-made aircraft for passengers.
In the next few weeks, the plane will be flying high in the skies, he added.
He said that the Ministry of Defense is in charge of producing an indigenous passengers-plane while CAO is monitoring the process.
The the first phase of manufacturing the new platform of Iran-140 plane was ready, Tehran Times said quoting CEO of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization.
โThe new platform of Iran-140 aircraft will make its maiden flight by the end of March 20,โ Mohammadibakhsh said.
He pointed out that with 90 airports and over 80 million population, Iran requires at least 550 aircraft of all sorts and classes, he remarked.
He further said that MAPNA, a local firm, has launched a project to produce engines of airplane.
The CEO of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization said that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisie had ordered the factoryโs specialists to produce indigenous passenger planes having at 72 seats.
Meanwhile, the production of 100-seater passenger-jet was started since Feb 2021.
Iran has become self-sufficient in overhaul and production of aircraft components and replacement parts, he added.
