ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Asim Munir has accused India of intensifying its proxy war against Pakistan after its defeat in “Marka-e-Haq” — the 19-day military conflict with New Delhi that took place from April 22 to May 10, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
Speaking to participants of the 16th National Workshop in Balochistan, the chief of army staff (COAS) strongly condemned India’s “blatant sponsorship” of terror proxies, calling it a failed attempt to undermine the deep-rooted patriotism of the people of Balochistan.
Field Marshal Munir noted that India was advancing its “nefarious designs” through Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan — tools of hybrid warfare against Pakistan. “These proxies will face the same fate and humiliation as they did in Ma’arka-e-Haq,” he asserted.
Addressing parliamentarians, civil society representatives, civil servants, academics, media personnel, and youth, the army chief said terrorists “know no bounds of religion, sect, or ethnicity” and stressed the need for a unified national response to defeat them.
Reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s determination to root out terrorism, Field Marshal Munir highlighted the importance of socio-economic development in Balochistan for national cohesion.
He also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and vowed a decisive response to any internal or external threat to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and citizens.
