The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 458 human traffickers and agents in the past two months as part of a heightened crackdown on human trafficking networks.
Among those apprehended are eight high-profile criminals listed in FIA’s Red Book.
According to the agency’s latest report, the operation was launched under the directives of the Federal Interior Minister to dismantle human smuggling rings operating throughout the country. The report highlights significant progress in tracking down individuals responsible for recent migrant boat tragedies.
The FIA has arrested 19 fugitives connected to the 2023 Greece boat disaster, 18 human traffickers linked to the 2024 Greece boat incident, and 10 agents involved in the 2025 Morocco boat tragedy.
In addition, the FIA seized properties valued at Rs661.63 million and froze bank accounts holding Rs73.51 million related to trafficking activities.
The agency has also issued 26 Red Notices through Interpol to apprehend suspects involved in international trafficking operations.
Surveillance at major airports has been intensified to prevent human smugglers from fleeing the country. FIA officials have committed to using all available resources to dismantle trafficking networks, ensuring all perpetrators are brought to justice.
A spokesperson for the agency confirmed that the crackdown would continue, with the goal of eliminating human trafficking networks both domestically and internationally.
