ISLAMABAD: The Establishment Division has directed all federal officers from grades 17 to 22 to undergo medical examinations and submit reports within fixed deadlines, according to an official memorandum issued on Thursday.
Under the directive, officers serving in ministries, divisions, departments, and other federal institutions must complete the required assessments. Authorities will include the medical reports in their official service records to ensure proper documentation.
Furthermore, the memorandum sets separate deadlines for different service groups. Officers belonging to the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan, Office Management Group, and the Secretariat Group must submit their medical reports by March 31. Meanwhile, officers from all other cadres and services have until April 30 to comply with the instructions.
To facilitate the process, authorities have appointed focal persons at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and other polyclinics. These officials will assist officers based in Rawalpindi and Islamabad in completing their examinations efficiently.
In addition, the division emphasised that the initiative aims to maintain the health and operational fitness of senior federal officers. By ensuring timely medical evaluations, the government seeks to strengthen administrative efficiency and preparedness across institutions.
Moreover, officials stated that maintaining updated medical records will support better workforce management and long-term planning. The directive also reflects a broader effort to institutionalise health monitoring within the federal bureaucracy.
Overall, the move signals the governmentโs intent to prioritise officer well-being while reinforcing accountability through proper record-keeping and compliance with service requirements.
