Indian comedian and actor Sunil Pal, best known for his breakthrough in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (2005), has been reported missing after attending a performance on December 3.
The 49-year-old comedian’s wife, Sarita Pal, filed a missing person report at Santacruz Police Station after failing to contact him despite repeated attempts. Sarita shared that Sunil had traveled outside Mumbai for a show and was expected to return home on the night of December 3. When he did not return and his phone remained switched off, she became increasingly concerned and alerted the authorities.
An investigation into his disappearance is currently underway.
Sunil Pal is celebrated for his comedic talent and memorable roles in films such as Apna Sapna Money Money, Hum Tum, and Phir Hera Pheri. Just days before his disappearance, he appeared to be in high spirits, sharing cheerful videos on Instagram. On December 1, he posted clips of himself enjoying a boat ride with friends, captioned, “Enjoying the waves of life.”
While admired for his humor and charm, Pal has faced challenges in his career. In 2017, he accused filmmaker Anees Bazmee of withholding payment for his performances and claimed that multiple producers owed him between Rs 20 to 25 lakh.
Sunil Pal’s sudden disappearance has left his fans and loved ones deeply concerned, with many hoping for his safe and swift return.
