The Mansehra police have refuted social media rumors claiming that unmarried couples or tourists without a Nikahnama are barred from entering Naran.
In an official clarification, authorities confirmed that such reports are baseless and misleading, stressing that Naran and surrounding valleys remain open and welcoming to all visitors from across Pakistan as well as international tourists.
Officials explained that the district administration has implemented extensive security and facilitation measures to provide travelers with a safe and comfortable environment while exploring the scenic landscapes of Mansehra.
The clarification came in response to viral claims that sparked confusion among potential visitors and raised concerns about unnecessary restrictions on tourism.
Police highlighted that the only restrictions enforced recently were aimed at certain tour operators who attempted to organize activities that clashed with local culture and traditions.
These included inappropriate gatherings such as musical nights and events considered inconsistent with the region’s family-oriented tourism profile. Authorities made it clear that such measures were never directed at individual tourists but solely at operators who violated cultural and ethical boundaries.
While reaffirming that all visitors are welcome, the police reminded travelers that although Naran is open to all, indecent or unlawful activities will not be tolerated at any of the district’s tourist destinations.
Instead, tourists are encouraged to enjoy the area’s natural beauty, serene valleys, and rich cultural heritage in a respectful manner.
The statement reassured the public that false online reports should be ignored and that the region continues to operate as a prime tourist destination without restrictions based on marital status.
With these clarifications, authorities hope to eliminate misunderstandings and reinforce Naran’s reputation as a safe and hospitable location for travelers seeking both adventure and tranquility.
