Former army chief of Afghan national army General Haibtullah Alizai is doing security guard job in the United States these days.
His images wearing a security guard uniform have gone viral on X platform on Wednesday.
America drained billions of dollars in Afghanistan, including capacity building of the Afghan army, etc.
Some analysts believe that incompetent army leaders like General Alizai and wrong decisions of the US policy makers led to fall of Kabul to Taliban.
A social media analyst said, “Heartbreaking to witness the former Chief of the Afghan Armed Forces, a symbol of resilience and strength, now working as a security guard in the USA. The collapse of the republic isn’t just about losing a nation; it’s also about losing careers, ranks, and the dreams of countless individuals. The tragic trajectory persists, affecting the second and third generations of Afghans in conflict. This poignant reality underscores the profound losses endured by the Afghan people, and it compels us to reflect on the human toll of political upheaval.”
Earlier, Haibatullah Alizai, formerly the Commander of Special Operations Command in the Afghan National Army, assumed the role of Afghanistan’s Chief of General Staff, akin to the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, shortly before the Taliban advanced into Kabul. This change followed the removal of General Wali Mohammad Ahmadzai.
In this interview, Alizai shares his perspective on navigating the challenging times in Afghanistan during the Taliban’s territorial gains and the withdrawal of US troops. He reflects on his leadership experiences, the lessons learned, and his aspirations for Afghanistan’s future.
