“The Sound of Tinkling Bells” Mesmerizes Audience at Arts Council Festival in Media Partnership with Jang and Geo Group
A breathtaking performance by renowned dancer Sheema Kermani and her troupe captivated the audience on the 16th day of the ongoing World Culture Festival at the Arts Council of Pakistan (APC) in Karachi.
Held at Auditorium I, Kermani’s enchanting classical dance piece, “The Sound of Tinkling Bells,” was graced by the presence of Russian Consul General Andrey Viktorovich Fedorov. Kermani opened the evening with a stirring rendition of the late poetess Fahmida Riaz’s poem “Aao Hum Watnon Raqs Karo,” setting a poignant tone for the performance.
Accompanied by a talented group of dancers, Kermani’s artistic brilliance left the crowd spellbound, creating an unforgettable experience for classical dance enthusiasts.
The previous day featured a rerun of Khawaja Moinuddin’s iconic 1956 satire “Taleem-e-Balighan 2.0,” which critiques society through the lens of adult education. The updated play retained its sharp humor while reflecting on the unchanged societal issues since its original debut, leaving the audience in fits of laughter.
Directed by Farhan Alam Siddiqui, the 60-minute production expertly blends humor and reflection, offering a timeless commentary on the absurdities of social and educational systems.
With over 450 artists from 40 different countries, the festival continues until November 2 at the ACP Karachi.
