Virat Kohli
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are among Bollywood’s most beloved couples, frequently making headlines not just for their professional achievements but also for their charming family life with their two children, Vamika and Akaay. The couple has always been a subject of public interest, with fans and media alike keeping a close eye on their personal lives.
Earlier this year, rumors began circulating about the possibility of the family relocating to London. These speculations gained significant attention after Virat hinted at his future plans, revealing that he intends to step away from the public spotlight after retiring from cricket.
The rumors gained further credibility when Virat’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, confirmed the family’s plans during an interview with Dainik Jagran. Rajkumar shared, “Virat apne bachon aur patni Anushka Sharma ke saath London mein shift hone ki yojna bana rahe hain. Vo bahut jald hi Bharat chhod kar wahan basne wale hain,” meaning, “Virat is planning to move to London with his children and wife Anushka Sharma. He will soon leave India and settle there.”
Despite the confirmation of their move to London, Rajkumar clarified that Virat is not yet considering retirement and may even play in the 2027 ODI World Cup. “Virat is still super fit, and retirement isn’t on the cards anytime soon. He’s got so much more to give to the game,” he added. Virat’s dedication to his sport remains steadfast, with much of his focus still on cricket.
Privacy has always been a priority for Virat and Anushka, especially when it comes to their children. The couple has taken several steps to keep their children away from the media spotlight, even requesting photographers not to capture their images.
They have found a level of privacy in London that is difficult to attain in India. Virat shared that during a two-month stay in London, he and Anushka were able to enjoy private family time, walking around the city without being recognized, which he described as a surreal experience.
At a Royal Gala Dinner during the IPL season, Virat spoke about his plans after cricket. He mentioned that once he retired, he would take a long break and step away from the media spotlight. “For the time I’m here, I would give everything to the game, and this is what keeps me going,” he said, highlighting his commitment to cricket for as long as he is able to play.
Beyond cricket and acting, the couple has explored business ventures. They co-own a UK-based management consultancy firm and have frequently been seen enjoying their time in London, further fueling speculation about their potential permanent move. Anushka, who gave birth to their second child, Akaay, in London earlier this year, has also contributed to the growing rumors.
On the cricket front, Virat has recently struggled with his form, following a century in Perth with a series of low scores. However, he remains determined to regain his form during upcoming matches in Melbourne and Sydney, crucial for India’s chances of qualifying for the ICC World Test Championship final.
Anushka, who was last seen in a leading role in Zero (2018), made a brief cameo in her brother Karnesh Sharma’s film Qala in 2022. Although her film career has slowed down, she continues to support Virat and their family while also focusing on her business and personal endeavors.
