American singer Camila Cabello stirred a social media frenzy after photos surfaced showing her performing to a “nearly empty” venue in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday.
According to an insider who spoke to Page Six, the event was not a public concert but a “corporate event” with limited tickets available for general sale. Cabello headlined the performance, with Myles Smith and Knox as the opening acts.
Despite the clarification, criticism poured in on social media, with one user harshly describing the show as “empty” and calling Cabello a “flop.” Another tweeted, “Why do some singers do this? If you know you can’t sell arenas, why perform there? Isn’t it just extra costs and embarrassment?”
However, many fans came to Cabello’s defense. “She just gained my respect by still performing,” one user wrote. “That show meant the world to the people in the crowd that night. EMPTY SHOWS ARE STILL SHOWS.”
Following the event, Cabello shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing gratitude to her fans. “Being a fan is a transformative and creative and sacred endeavor,” she wrote. “And the artist who gives to their community also gets, in the form of love, inspiration, and trust.”
She continued, “I’m honored to be that for you. It’s one of the sweetest relationships I’ve known. I have fans who are more loving, loyal, and ride-or-die than people in my real life.”
Cabello’s message resonated with her supporters, reaffirming her connection with her fans despite the online backlash.
