Reema Khan: Indian Film Industry Controlled by Groups Against Pakistani Artists

Pakistani veteran actress Reema Khan has voiced her views on the Indian film industry, stating that it is controlled by groups that do not provide space for others, particularly Pakistani artists. During an appearance on Tabish Hashmi’s show “Hasna Mana Hai,” Reema shared insights into the challenges she faced during her career and life after marriage.

Addressing questions from the audience, Reema discussed the offers she had received from Bollywood. While acknowledging that many Pakistani actors, including Humayun Saeed, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Imran Abbas, and others, have worked in Indian films, she emphasized that certain influential individuals in India do not welcome Pakistani artists.

Reema mentioned that Indian directors are welcoming to Pakistani artists, but the actions of influential figures create an unwelcoming atmosphere, leading artists to avoid working in India. She disclosed that she received offers from Bollywood during her visit to India in 2005 for the Zee Cine Award.

“India already has a lot of talent, but if they want us to work with them, then there should be conditions, as I felt in the past. Although our local industry is small, it is better and more beautiful than Bollywood,” Reema commented.

Responding to another question, Reema described herself as a 10/10, highlighting her dedication and hard work in every field. She also expressed her desire to return to the screen in a leading role, stating that she would consider working if presented with a good script in the future.
