Pakistani model Roma trashes her viral pictures in Bikini after backlash from fans

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani model and actress Roma Michael, based in Lahore, recently deleted a viral Instagram post featuring her bikini ramp walk from the Miss Grand International 2024 event. This decision followed intense backlash, especially from conservative audiences in Pakistan who expressed disapproval over her attire and public appearance.

Despite taking down the post, the video continued to circulate on various social media platforms, sparking widespread debate on women’s rights and representation in the country. The incident has prompted discussions on the challenges women face in expressing their individuality and the need for greater empowerment and freedom of choice in Pakistan.

Michael, who has gained recognition in the fashion and entertainment industry with appearances at prestigious events like Cannes Fashion Week, expressed disappointment at the negative reaction she received.

A model-turned-actress, Roma Michael has been making significant strides in her career. Her journey began during an internship at Faces Pakistan in 2013, where a colleague encouraged her to pursue modeling. This led to her first photoshoot and a wave of social media attention.

Since then, Roma has worked with top brands like L’Oréal Paris, Gul Ahmad, Sana Safinaz, and Bareeze, and collaborated with renowned designers such as HSY, Nida Azwer, and Mohsin Naveed Ranjha. She has also participated in major fashion events like PFDC and FPW between 2016 and 2019.

In addition to her modeling success, Roma has appeared in television commercials for major brands like Coca-Cola, Telenor, and Kims, solidifying her position in the industry. Confident in her identity, she says, “I know who I am, and I don’t waste time worrying about what others think.”
