Nikita Porwal from Madhya Pradesh was crowned Femina Miss India 2024 on October 16 in Mumbai during a grand event at Famous Studios, celebrating the pageant’s 60th edition.
“In a world often dominated by conformity, Nikita Porwal stands out as a symbol of individuality and determination,” Miss Fermina remarked about the winner.
Her graceful presence and radiant smile impressed the judges, earning her the coveted title, which was presented by last year’s winner, Nandini Gupta. Neha Dhupia added a nostalgic touch by elegantly draping the Miss India sash around Nikita.
Hailing from Ujjain, a city steeped in spiritual heritage, Nikita credits her upbringing for nurturing her curiosity and critical thinking. She completed her education at Carmel Covent Senior Secondary School and pursued higher studies at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
“From a young age, her parents encouraged her to be a thinker, instilling the importance of questioning norms rather than following them blindly. This supportive environment sparked her curiosity and passion for storytelling,” Miss Femina noted.
As a dedicated animal advocate, Porwal plans to use her new title to promote kindness and empathy towards all living beings.
“Animal welfare is a cause that resonates deeply with me. It’s heartbreaking to see innocent animals suffer from cruelty and neglect,” she shared.
Through her platform, she aims to raise awareness about the importance of caring for and protecting animals.
“As humans, we are not the owners of this planet but its guardians, responsible for its well-being. Our intelligence and advancements should benefit not just ourselves, but also the creatures that depend on us.”
