Narges Mohammadi earned the coveted title of Best Actress for her outstanding performance in the film “Wind of Change”. The movie was displayed during the 10th edition of the Silk Road International Film Festival (SRIFF) in Fuzhou, China. Organizers made the exciting announcement last week.
Abbas Rafei directed the movie “Wind of Change”. It delves into the story of Sara, who discovers one fateful day that her husband has mysteriously disappeared. Left with her teenage daughter and no one else to depend on, they embark on a frantic quest for his whereabouts with the help of a neighbor.

The 86-minute film, a production from 2023, features a talented cast. It includes Narges, Fariba Naderi, Hana Harandi, Hedieh Bazvand, Mohammad Reza Sharifinia, Maryam Bubani, and Sam Nuri.
In addition to this accolade, the Chinese drama “Gone with the Boat” was crowned Best Film at the festival, with its director, Xiaoyu Chen, receiving the coveted Best New Director award.
Further honorees at the Silk Road International Film Festival include the French documentary “Journey of Perseverance,” directed by Nicolas Philibert, which secured the Best Documentary award. Meanwhile, “Chang’an Thirty Thousand Miles,” a captivating animation co-directed by Xie Junwei and Zou Jing, was recognized with the Best Animation award.
Established in 2014 by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television, the Silk Road International Film Festival (SRIFF) serves as a vital platform to advance China’s national Belt and Road Initiative. The festival’s mission is to foster cultural exchanges and collaboration among countries along the Belt and Road routes while contributing to the growth of China’s audiovisual industry.
SRIFF takes place annually, alternating between the cities of Xi’an and Fuzhou, and is jointly organized by the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government and Fujian Provincial People’s Government.
The festival comprises various sections, including Competition, Film Panorama, Film Forum, Film Market, and Interactive Activities, with an ever-evolving array of special presentations.
